Barbara is a licensed and nationally certified Speech-Language Pathologist with more than 20 years of experience providing comprehensive speech, language, literacy, and learning services to children from toddlerhood through the school-age years. She is a private practice Speech-Language Pathologist providing individualized services to students at Laurel School, Gilmour Academy, and Fuchs Mizrachi School. Prior to private practice, Barbara spent 15 years at Cleveland Hearing & Speech Center, where she served as Coordinator of Reading and Writing Services and developed expertise in literacy intervention, including as a Wilson Dyslexia Practitioner. Her clinical experience includes the evaluation and treatment of articulation and speech sound disorders, receptive and expressive language difficulties, apraxia, reading and writing challenges, and other communication disorders. She has also worked extensively with young children through early intervention and preschool programs, providing speech, language, and hearing screenings and services.
In addition to her clinical work, Barbara has supervised graduate student clinicians from Case Western Reserve University, The University of Akron, Cleveland State University, and Penn State, as well as Speech-Language Pathologists completing their clinical fellowships. She holds a Master of Arts in Communication Sciences from Case Western Reserve University and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Ohio Wesleyan University. Barbara maintains her Certificate of Clinical Competence through the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association and is licensed by the State of Ohio. Her specialized training includes Wilson Dyslexia Practitioner certification, Hanen training in It Takes Two to Talk and More Than Words, and training in Lindamood-Bell's Visualizing & Verbalizing for Language Comprehension and Thinking.
